With months and months of planning, dreaming and imagining, the day has finally arrived! Yes, it’s true, my hubs and I along with our sweet dog Maggie are moving! I’ve been keeping this secret for so long, a secret that I’ve been dying to share with you when the timing was right. I’m so excited the day is finally here, you guys.
Having grown up in Alberta and lived in Calgary for over 15 years, we are saying goodbye. We’re making one of the biggest moves in life, yet we have so much peace and excitement. My hubs and I have taken so many leaps of faith over the last few months, trusting and knowing that there is a plan for our life. It has been beyond incredible to see things come together, in fact it’s like watching miracles happen and come to life right in front of us. Every step of the way we chose to trust in the unseen. We let go of things we were holding on to and we held on tight to the new ideas. I can’t even begin to tell you the incredible journey it’s been. After selling our beautiful home that we built together, liquidating most of our furniture and moving to a brand new city in a different country, we are beyond excited for what’s to come!
With that said, this decision to move hasn’t come easy. I’ve always treasured the fact that I live so close to family and friends. Community is number one for me, and having friends and family close to me is what I value most in life. This move has been incredibly difficult to say goodbye. Although it may be saying goodbye to Calgary, I will always be back which makes it feel like I’m not fully leaving.
So where are we headed? I’m sure you’re scanning my post for the details and so I won’t hold back any more. Seattle! Not only do we love the city of Seattle, we’re so excited to live on the West coast. New opportunities have opened the doors for us there and we’re so excited to now call Seattle our new home in this stage of life. The neat part is that not much changes for Velvet & Vino, except the fact that I will be sharing more of my West Coast adventures with you here. I can’t wait share our travel experiences and my love for West Coast style. Expect to see a lot more of Seattle, Vancouver and Calgary here on the blog.
In the meantime, please be sure to stay in touch. As always, thank you so much for reading friends! Hugs!
PS: I’m so done with this snow! Saying hello to rain and I’m ready for it!
