Holt Renfrew Mannequin Runway.
As a part of their Fall 2014 lookbook release by Holt Renfrew’s Vice President Fashion Editor, Lisa Tant, I was invited by Holt Renfrew to create my own looks by styling four mannequins in-store. Illustrating my interpretation of this season’s trends, I was ecstatic for this fabulous opportunity to be featured in one of the top high-fashion stores of Canada with my very own individually styled mannequins, the Holt Renfrew Mannequin Runway.
For those of my readers in Calgary, be sure to check out my styled mannequins in Holt Renfrew Calgary this week, also all the featured pieces are available for purchase in-store now. With that, I thought I’d share the inspiration behind my four looks I created.
Without a doubt, Fall style is one of my most favorite seasons. It’s that time of year where we can enhance our wardrobe creativity with our choices of layers and colors. Starting from left to right, the first look was inspired by the simple monotone pinks presented by Valentino on the Fall 2014 runways. Creating that mod trend, I added some modern flair by pairing the fur scarf and playing with the slightly cropped sweatshirt for an added layer over the flare blouse. The skirt is a beautifully draped tweed that would look fabulous with a pair of boots or high heels.
The second look is featuring the most gorgeous Valentino dress which has leather textured flowers along the collar-line. For this look I was inspired by the shimmering sequined pieces spotted on the Louis Vuitton Fall 2014 runways where it was all about the surface detail. I paired a wide black belt on this Valentino dress to toughen up the look and yet enhance the playful pattern in the dress.
The third look in my Holt Renfrew Mannequin Runway is a play on the sporty chic woman with this very desirable jacket by Japanese designer, Sacai. For an unexpected fun vibe, I paired the silk trousers with a cable knit sweater and layered the jacket over the shoulder for that chic and edgy editorial-girl vibe. The icing on the cake for this look is the play on the red trend by topping the look with this stylish hat.
Lastly, the fourth look is inspired by the Hermes Fall 2014 runway featuring subdued monotone colors in the grays, whites and blacks. This season it’s all about the wool and cashmere coats in an oversized, rounded silhouette. Offset this outer layer with a chic turtleneck and sexy leather skirt for the look that easily transitions from daytime to evening.
I really hope you enjoy my Holt Renfrew Mannequin Runway and let me know which outfit is your favorite!!
