A few weeks back my hubby and I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon spent at Seattle’s most iconic historical building, the Smith Tower. One of my favorite aspects about moving to a new city is exploring and experiencing all it has to offer, especially some of the Seattle’s best views. Sometimes I get that feeling that we never have enough time because I want to make it happen all in days. I’m beginning to realize that for us to truly experience Seattle is by getting to know the history and stories that long live.
I absolutely love historic buildings that retain the character and design of it’s original build. From the moment we stepped up to the Smith Tower building I fell in love. I have always wanted to get to know the building, and finally got to! When you step inside the Smith Tower, you’re awed with beautiful brass elevators and marble tiling across the lobby. We were welcomed with the loveliest of elevator operators that take you up to the top Observatory in the very original elevators.
We spent the afternoon taking in the beautiful city views. I loved watching the ferries and water taxis come in and out of the port, while looking across the horizon of the gorgeous water front. The open-air viewing deck has 360-degree views, what a fun way to check out my city from East to West and North to South. Best of all, the Observatory has a chic speakeasy-inspired bar that has become one of the local hot spots. Enjoying bites and sips with the best views of Seattle, yes please!
A special thanks to Smith Tower for hosting us!
