Last month my hubby, Maggie and I had the pleasure of enjoying a staycation at one of Seattle’s most iconic hotels, the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. This sophisticated and enchanting hotel is definitely worth a stay, whether you’re local or a tourist visiting Seattle. I actually love staying at Fairmont properties, because they are typically the most historic and charming hotel destinations in each city. The Fairmont Olympic Hotel certainly has so many stories to share with years of history and of course their award-winning restaurants.
Given we live in inner-city Seattle, it’s always so nice to spend time in the heart of downtown and especially for a weekend staycation getaway. Our stay was absolutely one of the most magical experiences. You guys, the hotel was so beautifully dressed up for Christmas! It felt alive with so many people dining in the restaurant and lounge, and gals dressed up in cocktail dresses for corporate parties or holiday drinks with friends. I loved the festive lights and décor, and the giant Christmas tree in the center lobby was beyond breathtaking. The Fairmont Olympic Hotel also had the most notable gingerbread house which apparently took 15 culinary chefs, 8 engineers to build it, and 100s of helping hands! How unreal! Another cute fact is that they used 80 lbs. of molasses and 3 lbs. of cinnamon to build this giant gingerbread sculpture. Can you imagine?! It was so adorable with all of its intricate details and you could literally step inside the gingerbread house.
When my hubby and I checked in, we took some time to settle into our room with Maggie and decompress after a busy day. Later my hubs and I went downstairs and dined in the lobby lounge. The food was delicious, and we ended up visiting with a really neat older couple. They shared with us how they book a weekend at the hotel every December for a staycation. So romantic! Their tradition is to enjoy an eggnog cocktail in the lounge and then go for dinner together. They were so sweet and fun to chat with. I just love meeting new people, especially when they’re locally born and raised Seattleites. I could certainly see us making this an annual tradition staycation as well!
Thank you so much to Fairmont Olympic Hotel for a beautiful stay!
Hotel room cuddles with my Maggie. The Fairmont Olympic Hotel is so dog-friendly, she instantly made herself at home!
Street views from our room, I loved people watching from above.
Hotel room details, with two welcoming robes for our stay.
You know me and my obsession over good hotel amenities! Rose 31 products are beautifully scented and so nice to apply as well. Love that Fairmont Olympic provides this brand, it’s like a mini-spa experience in the hotel room.
She always wants my chocolate! Indulging in chocolate covered strawberries while watching a movie.
The finale of our staycation saving the best for last! Dining for brunch at the lovely Georgian restaurant in the hotel. The brunch buffet is to die for, we will return very soon!
